I have a roadster 2x12 combo. I LOVE it but, I really want a halfstack. I found a dude near me who has a mint triple rec halfstack and he might be interested in a straight trade. What I was initially thinking was to do the trade and then swap the triple rec head for either a mark v or roadster head. either of those would make me very happy. But after seeing how much triple recs are going for nowadays on CL ($950-$1200) I don't know if that's a safe bet. Unless I lucked out and found someone looking to do that trade. So, what are your thoughts?

not an even trade in my opinion. the roadster is way more versatile that a triple rec. you might have better luck straight trading the combo for the head.

I agree with Spewnz. The triple rec for a roadster combo is not an even trade. Your chances are better at trading it for a roadster head. One idea would be selling it and buying a used roadster head.
If the trade is your Roadster combo for a Triple Recto head and Mesa 4X12 I think that's a fair trade as long as it's in as good a condition as your amp.
If it's just the head for your combo I say No Deal.

oh yeah, hell no I wouldn't do it if it were my combo for just the head. but then do you think i'd be able to turn around and swap just the triple rec head for either a roadster or mark v head? that's the only way i'll go this route. and dude says his is perfect.

i say sell the combo for like 1400-1700 depending on its condition,then buy a roadster head for like 13-1600 and save for a used mesa stiletto cab for like 650-750. it seems like the hard way but in the end i think its easier and you don't have to unload a triple rec into the already flooded market.
