(not the beatles tune, this is an original)

pretty cool... when i hear the singer I think of thin lizzy. you should do a couple covers... whiskey in the jar, boys are back, jailbreak...

That was great! Top marks for that piece. I really enjoyed it. The drumming was excellent; programmed very well. The bass, too. The guitar, well, you can play - already know that. Loved the dynamics of that whole song.

A little criticism... the 'live' crowd seems to come in suddenly and abruptly, almost on the beat. A crowd builds up momentum/volume and usually soon after the start of say, a solo, whether it be guitar/drums/bass. You could also throw in a live crowd in the middle of a solo where it picks up or changes key, etc. The Eagles live CD is a good to listen to as a reference.

Keep 'em coming.

I don't know if it has GEQ, but his avatar has a pic of mark series with GEQ. wether or not he used it is another question

thanks man. good ole sm57 close miced on the speaker....
i try to run it thru the mic pre as clean as possible, to not color the sound any more than the mic is going to anyway......

blaklynx
thanks man, glad you dig it.

that crowd sound........?
it's a casio white noise patch, run thru my boogie.
i wanted it to sound obviously fake, but be representative of what i was saying... with the crowd and all...

i brought it in and out that way on purpose, to highlight the fact that it was 'fake'.
that's kinda the underlying message, about being a musician and being on stage and the feeling of playing for a big crowd, that is kind of misleading.....

this boogie, is a 1981 mark2b 60 watt, no reverb, with graphic eq.
at the time i bought it, i was gigging on the road full time....
and i had a rack effect unit.....
and didn't use reverb.
i thought i'd get the graphic, to help me dial the tone in from room to room.....
and ended up almost never using it!
LOL

here's a shot:

Hahaha.... my hearing must be shot. I suspected for an instant that you're 'white noise' sounded too consistent. I just wasn't sure :?. Sometimes huge crowds are a wall of noise, hence my 'live crowd' remark. Never mind.

It was late here in Oz and was tired. OK.... now I'm trying to excuse myself....

the white noise was fun to come up with.
it has this certain PULSE to it.... i can't remember if i ran it thru a vibe pedal, or a tremelo, or what...
maybe the synth patch actually pulsed...
i don't know, but i remember at the time thinking 'this obviously is a synth.... but kinda sounds like crowd noise...'
and it gave me the idea to use it as an ambient pad......

masque
thanks man.
appreciate the listen

Gonz...I dig this jam alot as well. To me, it has a real Rush type feel to it. And I love that band like no other.

THANKS NEPTICAL...

i can see the rush comparison...
you know, one of the first songs i ever learned to play with a band, was 'working man'.

Haha, Sweeet! I love that song. I know there's alot of folks that really only know them by their classic material, but I love when they got into the synthy stuff in the 80s. Alex is THE man when it comes to taking a blank canvas and painting the perfect picture on it.
