Will they fit in a Roadster head? I've read about how they sound in rectifiers, but I want to make sure they'll fit. The guy I'm buying them from says you need about 6 inches of clearance and the Roadster head has a little less than 6 inches from my measurements. Thanks!

From what I could dig up....

Heights
Road King = 10 1/2"
Roadster = 9 7/8"
Dual & Triple = 10"

I think you just might get there. Dual Rec users have had success with YJ fitting, but I'm not sure how big of a difference an 1/8 inch will do to you. Hope it helps.

MusicMan for you.... http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=16225&highlight=yellow+jackets

I believe THD makes two sizes of Yellowjackets, a short size and a long size.

I have the short set and they fit and sounded great in a Tremoverb head that I used to have a few years ago. I've also used them in my Mark IV short head as well, so I would think that you'd have no problems with the Roadster.

I would make sure to check the size first however, b/c I don't know how tall the long set is...

Metalmatt what are those dimensions? And Rockhound, do you remember how long the YJs were? I have just around 6 inches of clearance, looks like.

Those are the heights of the head shells on the Mesa price sheet. I just measured my Road King and I got different measurements, Mesa has it listed at 10 1/2" I got 9 3/4". Also the internal height (top of metal to bottom of wood) is around 5 1/2". Regardless, if another Road King owner has used yellow jackets you should be in luck with your Roadster. Let us know what you think.

I measured from the tip of the tube to the base of the contact pins, and it was 5 1/2 ". Again this is the short set of YJ's.

If you have between 5 1/2 to 6 inches of clearance you should be OK.
