I love my Axe and will regret it if I actually trade or sell it but I'm having sever Mark GAS.

If you have a Mark III head (must have EQ/Simul) or a Mark IV (prefer short head) and would like to work out a trade, please let me know. My Axe Fx Standard is in brand new condition and is currently loaded with the latest firmware version 8.09.

For a Mark IV trade I'd expect to be at or near a straight up trade whereas I'd expect some cash along with a Mark III.

Thanks.

Dave

hmm, in what respects is the axe not fulfilling your GAS? I was under the impression the Axe was gonna be a "be-all, end-all" solution. I think I'm gonna go home tonight, grab a blanket and cuddle up with my Mark IV. Wifey, move over!

this thread makes me happy, and verifies at least some of my hunches...nothing will ever feel the same as a beauty all tubed amp..especially a boogie.

arsnova I will reply.

To the first 2 posters, The Axe is amazing. If I don't sell it, I wouldn't miss any of the Mesas I've owned. And if you're not going to post with interest to my thread then don't hijack.

Hey sorry man. it was a legitimate question. before i purchased my mark iv, I was hunting for a Axe fx ultra. But I read several threads with conflicting opinions (as always). When some mesa owner said his axe-fx was better than his amp, another axe-fx owner said the opposite.

sorry not trying to hijack, but i mean, you are selling the axe, not looking to buy one..ive heard good things about em anyway, good luck!

No MIDI pedal is included.

Here's the deal. I'm just like most guys. I play guitar and by default that makes me a gear-slut. I've owned many amps since I started playing again 5 years ago (after not touching the guitar for over 15 years). I went through the F50, MarkIV wide combo, Mark IV short head on 2x12 vert cab, RKII, Stiletto Stage 1, Lonestar Classic 2x12, Studio Pre, 50/50. Feelin' me. For the last year, I've been playing an Egnater M4 pre and the Axe. It's the longest I've owned an amp in a long time and I really love them both. But I feel like I didn't really understand the mark IV when I had it and have been tempted to get another. But I don't dare throw any more money at gear in this economy with a wife and 3 little ones. So sadly, something has to go if I want to get a Mark. It could just as easily be the Egnater but the Axe is so hot right now, it's easier to sell. If I get a Mark again and don't gel, I go back to the Axe. If I sell outright, I'm looking for $1300 shipped. Original box. That's exactly what I paid for it and it's in new condition. Honestly, part of me wants to sell it and get a new toy but part of me hopes noone takes it. I just figure I could always go back to it. There is nothing better for recording direct or playing at low volumes. And I won't get into the tube vs. sim debate. It's pointless. But the thing smokes. I know alot of guys who tried them and hate them and I know great players who have put their Mark IV's in the closet because of the Mark IV and Mark IIC+ sim this thing has. It just sounds great.

Anyway, no worries guys. Rock on! :D

The Axe is sold. Looking for a Mark III short head with EQ/Simul or a shorty Mark IV.

a)where were you three weeks ago when i sold my mark iv to get an axe fx? b)in what capacity were you using the axe? i cant tell the difference between the axe/carvin poweramp and my old mark. its overwhelming but i just use the mark and recto sims and its cheaper than the two head.
