I am looking for a 20-watt-ish, portable Mesa combo with good rhythm and lead tones. The Studio 22 or the Subway Rocket would be ideal. Let me know if you have one you're willing to part with!

You might also look for a DC-2. It has a lot more gain on channel 2 than the other amps, but the separate EQ's for each channel really let you dial in a great tone.

There is no Graphic EQ though.

This one is not mine: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mesa-Boogie-Studio-Caliber-DC2-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ290237689300QQihZ019QQcategoryZ10171QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I had a couple of them years ago. Great little amps.

Whoppy,

Magdon Music near Scranton PA has a used Subway Rocket for sale. I think it was $699 (could be mistaken). I played it a few weeks ago, but it wasn't what I was looking for. It was in nice shape. Anyway their website is www.madgonmusic.com and I do not work for them in any way.

ah I don't know monsta........I think eBay is perfectly market driven

Anyhow...I have a perfect Studio 22 with eq
just put in two new Mullard EL 84's and two Tung-sol 12ax7's

I could let it go for 600 plus shipping

the rocket only has a 10" speaker.....I just found the 22 to have a lot more power and feel to it.

what I don't like about that DC 2 currently on eBay is it's dirty, very dirty.

It always stuck me as odd if someone is selling something they didn't take the time to clean it.
then on top of that...why is it so dirty in the first place.

I like things that look well cared for. I always look to the inside corners to see if something looks like it's really clean or they just gave it a once over. A once over they always leave out the detail spots.

Just my opinion on caring for stuff.

I think ebay is market driven, but Magdon Music always wants around $200 more than the auctions go for. I haven't seen them do too many auctions, mostly Buy It Now listings.

Oh I misunderstood you. Yeah I don't like reserves or high bid starts. Just let the market dictate.

by the way I'm loving your...err....my LSS!

I may have a line on a Studio .22+ for $550 locally...if that pans out I'll close the thread. Thanks for the suggestions dawgs!

Monsta,

My only buying experience with Magdon was on a Boogie Roadster and it was at the customary Mesa published price. No clue about how they feel about cash, but they strike me as a good bunch that treats their customers with respect. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them if they had gear I wanted to buy. Take care!

Got my Studio .22 (not + but oh well). Thanks to anybody who offered!

the not + is better...the plus has those plastic button switches
you have the metal toggles and 1 less knob!!

I never played a + but I have "heard" they, (who's they?), say the studio 22 non + is better.
