Yeah I've been looking on ebay and else where. May have found one.
That particular one. Doesn't have the better grill IMO (diamond pattern). I also would prefer a later model with the individual speaker jacks if possible.
Still a newb to these cabinets. Looks like the ticket though.

That's cool. These cabs are just awesome man. when you hear one, try to check it out side by side with any and all cabs and do a "taste-test". They're just really beefy, full of tone.

That bottom speaker is NOT an EVM12L...at least not on the auction speakers... $307 is still a good price though.
Yeah I agree with you guys, the cone didn't look like an EVM12L. But price is still good for me too.
I actually didn't ask what speakers were in it til after the auction ended cause I'm thinking about trying an alnico up top and a ceramic in the bottom.
My guess is its a C90! We'll see. :lol:

Yeah, that definitely looks like an MC90 ! Previous owner probably pulled it to use and the input plate still says CEL/EV.
Either way, that's a great price for a 2x12 halfback !

Here's an update.
These cabinets aren't for me. They're too small sounding (which might be good for some). A little bright. My two 3/4 1x12s sound HUGE compared to this (fills the room more), but on the darker side.
Seller wasn't exactly up front about the condition, sending it back because:
- Top speaker had a strange vibration at very low clean volumes (detectable by palm muting on a clean channel). I don't think it was blown.
- Didn't package as requested (double boxed) so it got a gash in the back.
- He omitted the left side which had screws?/nails? coming through the tolex.
Its packed well and I'm requiring a signature. Atleast I satisfied my curiosity.
I think I'll stick to these 3/4 back and 4x12 cabinets.

man, screws coming through the tolex is a pretty harsh deal.. it might sound a lot different with a more powerful speaker like an evm or ms12 in the bottom to really get the air going.. my current setup made a big difference for me over a wide combo + wide 1x12, but then again i've never tried the 3/4 cabs.. just curious, do you have them stacked/side-by-side/spread?

Right now I'm playing my 3/4 cabinets stacked. Its pretty loud. Maybe a little too loud. I'm looking to go with a small Soldano straight 4x12 eventually.
