i've often been called sick..
but never knew why.

:D
thanks for checking it out.

Sounds great, both tone and playing! Reminds me of some Badlands!

very cool....i love the in your face guitar tone!!!!!!!!!! **** near perfect.

reo73
badlands, haven't thought about that album in years!
interesting...
thanks for listening, glad you liked it.

masque
yes, between the boogie, the carvin, and the mic and mic pre, it is pretty in the face..
even with the effects loop running a slight tape delay!
thanks for checking it!

Great vocals and killer guitar tone and playing!

Never disappointed when i listen to a tune from you....much enjoyed!

As always you ROCK Gonzo! 8)

this one was fun to play...
i had originally wanted to do some more harmony work, and recorded it, but when i went to mix it, it just sounded 'bolder' to me, to have mostly the one vox.
as it is, the lead vox, was actually sung twice, and both tracks are blended on top of each other.
that was probably the hardest part of the whole song, nailing the lead vox twice.

shortest song i've ever done..
but, it really wanted to be that way.... short, sharp, in your face.

the main riff, starts on the 7, and always messes with my head!
my amp 'suffers no fools' (shows all mistakes) and i had to really practice that one til is was smooth.

thanks again for listening

Ditto. Very well done.

Badlands was cool. Jake E. Lee has crazy skills. Remember that song "Ball & Chain"? That was a great tune :)

Anyway! Nice job!!

thanks jetdriver!!

the mesa head, was dialed in on this one.

in fact, it might be the old DS-1 i used to have, driving the solo on this.

i set the solo channel up to where it's fairly crunchy, but no real sustain...
just tone...

then i push the amp hard with the DS-1, no so much drive, but with the level wide open, and the tone knob rolled back a bit from straight up...

it just gooses the mesa into that sweet zone, where it sustains, but doesn't add any fizz or spit.

Could you refresh the link please? I'd really like to hear this clip. Thanks, Paul.

wow, you resurrected this one!!
LOL

this was from a while back, and i had put up a nice 320kbps mp3, but the only version i have available now for download, is the 128kbps version off of my artist page....

you can find it here:

it's a Carvin DC200K, thru the boogie and the Roland cab with the greenback...

you know, the dimensions of the roland cab, are very close to the dimensions of the avatar vintage g112.... i wonder if they'd sound the same if i a/b'd them next to each other...

anyway, thanks for asking about this one, let me know what you think....

Awesome! Is there an EQ on that head? I always thought Brad Gillis' tone on Speak of the Devil was absolutely killer.

THANKS FOR LISTENING/.......

GLAD YOU LIKED IT..

yeah, there's a 5 band eq on the head.

when i ordered it, i knew i'd use it more than reverb, so it was the only option i included.

it's a 60 watt head, don't remember if they offered simulclass back then or not, i don't think they could do it on a 2-6l6 head.
