use the tubes that work the best!!

lol

isn't this like the amp that paul gilbert moved to?

i like that sound....

post some clips as soon as you can

I've never owned or played thru a KT66 tube amp (that I recall). So this will be fun. I've heard this amp live and it sounds **** good and the clips on youtube are pretty good as well. There's one for RATM snakecharmer (that one part of that song is so **** intense/heavy).

marshall rocks. I was having some major GAS for a month or so and I was looking at Reeves (expensive and hard to find new or used), Peavey 6534, Mesa Stiletto and ED, Mark V, etc.

Full-on bad GAS that I haven't had for a long time (inspired by the **** LA ampfest 2010 recently). Better not to go to those events! stay away from NAMM!!!

apparently Jeff Beck uses this head but not sure if it's modded or not.

that guy is a very sick player. love that.

Rabies: have owned a Stiletto/DR/ED and now play a 2266. Stock tubes are pretty darn good, I put in some Genalex Gold Lion KT66's and haven't been GASing for a new amp in quite some time which is a good sign. I like the KT66 sound - big, fat, warm overdrive with plenty of balls to spare.

Those Gold Lion tubes are the best tubes, but they are expensive. I have a JTM 45 clone in which I run Valve Art KT'66's. Those sound great and they are resonably priced.

^Possibly cause there are not enough KT66s in production and/or they are not consistent enough from valve to valve...
