I just ordered some to try out. Do you use it in simul or class a? what are some things to look out for as far as tonal differences vs. having 6l6s?

You will get a slightly looser / rounder tone and lose a little bit of the authoritative bottom that you get with the 6L6s that you replaced after you install them. Overall it tends to be a better more full tone with the blend of 6L6s and EL34s.

Tried the EL34's, didn't like them nearly as much as all 6L6's in my Mark IV so I took them back out. I do however like them in my Traynor YCV-50 Blue. In the Mark they made the bottom weak and the overall sound somewhat mushy and less well defined. The Traynor however doesn't suffer the same drawbacks with EL34's, because it's designed specifically for EL34 tubes so they sound much better in that amp then the Mark IV.
