Hi all,

I think I've got a few bad tubes in my Recto Preamp due to microphonics and splutters of noise at extreme volumes. Which tubes would you recommend for the Recto Preamp. Alot of people seem to be going with combinations of different tubes but I haven't found any specifics for the rack recto preamp which has the 6 tubes.

I'm pretty happy with my sound but I'm basically going for the huge guitar slab sound but with a tight bottom end for muting and trying to minimize the fizz sound whilst still cutting through. I don't enjoy any upper frequency harshness. I don't ask for much hey hehe...

These tung-sols seem to be popular in v1.

Any info appreciated.

Should I just replace them with the same ones as the standard dual recto and just fill in the 6v with a chinese tube if I decide to go the combo? Cause I think the rack version has an extra preamp tube.

Cheers.
