I typically pick up 10 or so sets when I pop into Guitar Center and make them come down on the price.

I was thinking about shopping online to find a deal, and Googled my search to find a LOT of places to buy them.

Anyone found any particularly good deals on strings?

I'm a Dean Markley man, myself...

Buying by box's an allwasy shop around many places (shops) will price match. I bought a box of power slinkys and saved like $5 a packet by buying by a box. Like ne thing man shop arround.

Well, I've been using GHS Boomers for years, and bought as I needed, except the nickel Rockers for my strat which I have to order as they don't stock the 11-58's I use...
Now I find GHS now sells through Wallmart! Now the local shops aren't keen on carrying them... So, do I go to Wallmart? Maybe I'll give Ernie Ball another shot....
Oh well, capitalism.....
ax.

I've been using D'Addario XL's for years. I still like them, but they're getting harder to find good deals on. I'm checking out Webstrings and having pretty good results from them.

Did D'Addario raise their prices, or is my local rip-off shop retarded?

I paid $4.69 (retail $8.99) in June per pack, this weekend, they charged $6.39 ($11.49 retail).

They didn't believe me when I asked them why I paid two dollars less 3 months ago.

thats a good question. I used to play XL's and i know i never paid more than 5 bucks a pack for them.

Don't be fooled by the low prices. These are quality strings. Forget brick and mortar stores. Deal directly with the manufacturer.

I will definately have to order a few packs and check these out. thanks for the info guys.

Yeah, I'm used to paying less than $4 a set for them. I used to buy them in bulk for less than $3 a set. So anything over $4 is high for me.

****.

Well, I guess that will be one benefit of the first GC in the bi-state KC area. Any more than $5 a pack is pretty much insane, unless they are like Snake Oils, et al.

Another Webstrings user here. I've put them on a number of different guitars (both 9s and 10s) and even my Floyd equipped VH guitar... they're top notch. I even use them live.

Can't beat $2 and change per set. Shipped. And I never leave the house.

I usually use GHS boomers with my Les Paul, but last time I was at the shop, I picked up Gibson LP strings 10-46. I figured I'd give 'em a try. Anyone use 'em?

I've got a hook up at one of the local stores but I must say my fav set has been the GHS BOOMERS TNT's for over a decade.

I love GHS strings but they lose their tone so quickly, I switched to D'Addario and haven't looked back

Strings for every instrument known to man.
Incredible selection & very fast shipping.

After 20 years of playing GHS Super Steels, I'm changing over to GHS Electric Guitar Eric Johnson Signature Set .010 - .050. These strings are just amazing.
