Went online and Howard ind. only had a very limited supply . How important is it that all the criteria matches exactly? What appears to be a part number is SPN 3-15-2470. 115 volts, 50/60 HZ, .16/.14 amp, 12/11 watt. Has another number 52-83. Last but not least it says class b ins.(insulation maybe?) Oh and also 25C (centigrade?) I've found other fans but the numbers are off to way off. Do all these amps/watts ect. need to be exact or better yet can someone steer me in the right direction to obtain a proper cooling fan for this amp ? THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE..........JG

P.S. I forgot to mention this fan came out of a head shell and was installed into a combo. If it matters, the fan is cooling a "Big Boy" combo.

I didn't see anything in Mesas product replacement line. I sent them an e-mail, their closed today. Certainly someone had run across this issue before, they must be obtainable. I ran across some fans (not on boogie web site) but the specs were different. 115volt was the only spec I could find a match to. I don't know how important all the other specs are in terms of effective replacement. My fans say Howard cyclone on them. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

If you can't wait for M/B to open on Monday, then you probably will only use it for 1 gig...which it will survive without a fan. Most amps don't have cooling and work fine. M/B goes the extra step to ensure reliability but you should be fine for one night without it. If really concerned, go to Target and buy a small fan and plug it into the courtesy outlet an the back of the amp. Then contact Petaluma for a replacement.

A "Big Boy" or "Big Brother" ? ;-)

The fan Mesa uses these days is a Globe fan.
They can be found at some electronic supply places. But other fans with the same size can be found easily enough too. (I have a few)

The biggest difference I have found is how quiet each fan runs.
The Globe is reasonably quiet.
But all things considered once you start playing you can't really hear the fan.

Fwiw the old/ original Howard fans are no longer made and no longer available.

I recently called Mesa about a fan for my DC-3 and they recommended attaching a desk clip-on fan. Many of the new models have DC fans.

For what it's worth, the Globe fan in my Mark IV is rated at 50/60 hz and 7/6 watts. Serial number A47 B15A 15T1 000. I think as long as you're close in ratings and the fan fits, it should work
