What TUBES Do You Have in Your IIC(+)?

I recently bought one of these suckers and I'm looking to replace the tubes. I put JJs in my Rectifier and was displeased to say the least. Should I judge the JJs primarily on my experience with my Recto?...I think not.

Anyway, let me know what you have found to work best. Please no one with unsubstantial experience with a variety of tubes note so or do not reply at all.

4 6L6s? ... 2 6L6s/2 EL34s? ... what brands do you like? I'd like to hear about your preamp tubes of choice as well.

Four Mesa/Svetlana STR454 6L6's.

Much more defined, fuller tone than the Sovtek STR430's I had before.

For preamps, I use SPAX7's and a 12AX7 in the phase inverter.

I use Mesa brand tubes because they're all I can get locally, but more importantly, they are guaranteed to fall in the IIc's bias range.
