...a Marshall JVM preamp in OD2 Red mode and a Mesa Boogie 2:90 poweramp with Deep and Modern engaged?

Answer: Peavey 6505. I swear, today me and my right hand amigo went to an Austrian music store, where we tried out a 6505 head, and I "saved" that tone in my head and tried to replicate it using this setup. It sounded weird without the voicing switches on, but when I switched them on... It was monstrous. Savage. Terrifying. Brutal. Horrible, in a good way. A fucking steam roller with 20 inch spikes. GOD I love my rig(s)!!!!

Settings, if it has any use to anyone whatsoever:

Peavey
Pre-gain - 6
Bass: almost 7
Middle: a little over 4
Treble: 6
Post-gain: about 3-4, the store would let me go that loud
Resonance: a little less than 5.5
Presence: 5 or less, can't remember

JVM OD2 Red+Mesa 2:90 (8x6L6)
Volume: 5
Bass: 5.6 (a hair over dead center)
Middle: 5.2 (a bit more than a bit more over 5)
Treble: 5.5 (as dead center as possible)
Gain: 5.1 (a bit over 5)

Level: as high as you dare
Presence: 10-11 o'clock-ish (3-4)

Guitars used: Epiphone LP for the Peavey, my explorer w/EMGs for the JVMesa setup. Sorry for the big guitar difference, but that's what I had to use, since my friend has the same one and the tryout session was for him. I'd turn the treble and presence up a little on the JVMesa for darker instruments, and the treble/presence down for brighter instruments on the Peavey.

Make sure you don't get any aby-normal parts for your next project Dr. Frankenstein. :D

I wish I could, I don't have anything to record them with. I do have an SM8 vocal mic, but that doesn't help because I have no PC hardware or software for that matter... All I could provide is a crappy phone recording. :( Maybe I'll borrow our bassist's ZOOM H2 handy recorder. I'll do my best.

I fiddled with it some more today, and I noticed, this setup has the midrange grind and "yelling" highs of a Peavey 6505, but it still has that Mesa depth in the low end, as opposed to the Peavey's "crumbling" lows... I don't know, that's the best word I can find for the Peavey's lows. The JVMesa setup's low boom, hammer-style, the 6505 crumbles, I'd picture rough stones flying out the speakers.

Matter of fact, my first statement after smashing a D chord was

"...IT'S.... ALIIIIVEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"
