Last time I saw them in 2007, John Connolly was rocking Randall RM100 Heads. Don't know what modules he had. As for recording, you would have to ask them what they used.
 
On that album, they used a combo of Mesa (Recto and Mark IV) with a Marshall (don't know what model) for the main sound, and they blended in various bits from a Bogner, Vox AC30, Bruno, Roland JC-120, Mesa Heartbreaker, etc...for various parts and overtones.
 
it's not important what they use. find your OWN sound. i wish i'd done the same back when i was young and impressionable.
 
I forgot to mention I think I have pics of their settings from one of their rigs on my computer...PM me if interested.

No wonder it sounds good, if that is really what they used for the song Licking Cream.
