Went from Mark V to IIC+ - and I kind of miss the V

I actually found the crunch mode to be most similar to my mark iii green stripe, but still very different overall. IMO the mark v just can't get the mark iii sound.

I agree with that totally.. I think it does the IV pretty well, and the IIC+ decently.. but I don't think it's anywhere near the III..

Agree with this. Playing my IIIs next to a V,tonally, they're two different beasts all together.

I don't know about you guys ,like the mark V and all the futures that comes with but the sound voicing of the amp is too modern to me. love more that vintage Voicing that keep me going back to those Vintage amps . hey don't you think that mark V's should be coming out with Stereo capability to hook up with a Simul satellite like Mark IV? just yesterday test one simul unit and my jaw drop to the ground on just how good it is.simple and clean as stand alone amp and amazing with any amp or pedals and for stereo use..

Although an awesome amp in its own right,I agree - which is another reason I haven't budged on purchasing one yet. It's a different beast then the older Marks fer sure. But don't get me wrong, I've played and heard enough of them that has backed up its hype. It's just a tonal preference.

Indeed!!!!! thats why i suggested of a Vintage/Modern switch on a future re edition of the amp and a stereo option

^^That would be cool, or they could add a Mark III mode on channel 2. I would like to see the Mark III get a little more respect. I admit I didn't give the III much notice until I played one, now it is my go to amp.

I think the III is an amazing amp, all versions... I'm loving the purple stripe lately... I found a local shop today that had a blue stripe that sounded rad, I almost picked it up, but it was pretty beat up and they wanted $1000 for it... I think for price, as most III's are pretty affordable compared to the IIC+, IV, and V... the III is def. the best bang for the buck... as far as Mark series amps go... It's so raw and articulate that they're just great, I'm looking to pick one up to complete my trilogy of amps in the Mark series.

You can get a mark III for almost $700 and use the extra to take it to Boogie and they can do the C+ mod and the R2 mod if the models happen to be the Green dot model then you can ask for Pentode/tridode mod.
