So I finally got myself a cheap Behringer mixer just so I could use 2 mics at once, cause my interface only has 1 XLR input. I was tracking some guitars and had my monitors plugged directly into the mixer. Sounded great. Decided to hit record and plugged the monitors back into the interface and the sound lost SO MUCH DEPTH. Seriously. Why is this? Is digital really that bad? I mean, I could have recorded in a higher sample rate (I was only at 44.1khz originally), but it should not make THAT big a difference. I'm telling you, the difference was huge. Anyone else run into this?

The Behringer sounded fine, believe it or not. I loved the sound while monitoring through the headphone jack. It was when I recorded that all the depth was lost. Pretty sure it's the interface, but I don't know. I just feel like the thing wouldn't have gotten such good reviews if it sucked that bad.
