I have a dual rectifier maverick and my guitarist has the same exact amp. I'm gonna try to be as specific as possible in hopes that someone can help me out. So we played a show and the next day at practice both of our amps were having problems with the distortion. My distortion started making a really ear piercing trebley sound and my output level (master volume) picked one volume and wouldn't budge from that level no matter how high I turned the knob up. My footswitch makes a loud pop every time I switch to distortion. His distortion was just really really quiet, and his output level knob also wouldn't do anything. His amp now works fine and mine still has the same issues. I don't know much about the inside of amps or electronics in general but the only thing I can think of is maybe somethin surged through our amps during our show, or when we plugged them in at practice somethin happened. I don't know if it's a coincidence that both of our amps went or if it had to do with being plugged in near each other. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Power tube issue. My bet would be the place you both played had some crappy power and it did something to your amp.

Always use a power conditioner! Good luck.
