hi,

i've got some expression i'm not sure i really understand here...

scooped ?

headroom ?

break up ?

if you can tell me what is all about it will be helpfull... hum...

Scooped: most likely referring to scooped midrange or, dialed out so to speak... mostly bass and treble.

Headroom: the amount of clean volume before the signal starts to clip, or distort

Breakup: clipping or distorting of the signal

thanx a lot dude...

the only i had understood was "break up" !

so a "scooped" tone is more like a modern tone, metal, nu-metal ?

now i can define what i'm looking for : maximum headroom which means good clean at high level without break up !

you're welcome

scooped doesn't necessarily mean modern, metallica for example in the 80s had a very scooped tone. It's just the absence of midrange.

Yeah but in the 80's when all that scooped crap started Metallica WAS modern.

crank=to turn up very loud, most likely to the point where you are bothering neighbors and damaging your ears! But it really refers to just turning up loud so you get the tubes to saturate with electricity and "break up" or clip.

always referred to the distance between my lap and the steering wheel as "headroom" :D

ok...sorry
