Any one going. I'm shooting for the Cleveland or Indy show.

Want to take bets on how many dates before Dave and Eddie get into it and cancel the tour?

I'll go with 8 because the shows above are 5 and 7 on the tour!

Looking forward to it though. Never seen Eddie live.

There was a rumor that Eddie was boo'd off the stage in Columbus, Oh back in 78 or 79 opening for Rush. To my knowledge VH has never played Columbus. Anyone back this up?

Who cares? That's got to be the most boring soap opera in rock & roll.

HAHA, just had this conversation last night at a party. I'll be going to see them if they make it to the Portland, OR date. It'll be interesting to see his son play bass, I mean the kid grew up with eddie and alex, I bet he's got some sick chops.

I know the soap opera is old. If you go to Livenation.com you can watch the interview. Dave has mellowed (the potential paycheck will help), Eddie looks sober, and no one seemed to be uncomfortable with Dave on stage. Rare from the last couple of appearences.

It ain't the same without MA.

Did leave me something the consider I'll admit. Awesome bass players and his backing vocals were an intregal part of the Van Halen sound. My guess is Wolfgang doesn't suck. Look at the environment he grew up in! The members of Van Halen claim his youth and influence has added a new element to the band. We'll see. I'm stoked though.

I'm just a huge fan of the pre Sammy era. It's not the type of stuff that I play but I do love Eddie.

I'll go if they make the St. Louis show. M.A wasn't all that, and his vocals can be covered with 1; somebody in back, or 2; a machine.

I'm hoping Eddie kicks yer ass, just 1 more time.

You know years ago when Pearl Jam took on Ticketmaster I thought Pearl Jam was full of sh!t. Turns out those green weenies were right.

Got my tickets for the Indy show $150 bucks for section 3 at the Conseco Field House, non floor seats.

5 Star tickets $750.
4 Star Tickets $450

Ripping off your fans: Priceless.

Oh well, I'm still stoked. Not too many VH fans on here I've noticed.

Went to the show last night in Indy. Great show and the best seats I've ever had at a concert with seating.

Eddie was great but seemed to have a couple of sound problems during a couple of songs. I was close enough to see him yelling at the sound guy. He looked good and moved around really good.

David sounded great and looked good. Man, I hope I'm in that good of shape at 52.

Alex is a great drummer and dead on all night.

Wolfgang filled in on Bass just fine and was fun to watch. Not shy and played up to the crowd, his dad, and Dave. I did notice him mess up a time or too and he shrugged it off and got right back in the groove.

While I am a fan of Michael Anthony, I thought Wolfgang and Eddie filled in on the vocals just fine. Having never seen them live, I really had nothing to compare it to.

All in all, I payed 160 bucks plus the drive, parking and t-shirt. So $205 for the night. I was maybe 20 feet from Eddie just off the main floor for 2 hours plus. They played all of my favorite Van Halen tunes.

I'm glad I went. Just surprised there are no Van Halen fans on this board. I know Eddie doesn't play Mesa but he is a living legend who is still at the top of his game IMO.

Hey clutch71,

Thanks for the review.

I'm going tomorrow night here in Chicago. It will be interesting to find out how much the missing Michael Anthony vocals affects the sound.

It will be at least the 6th time seeing VH. Never saw them with Dave before.

I'm a huge Van Halen fan. My wife and I both have 'jump' inscribed on the inside of our wedding rings.

But I'm not spending that much money to go see a guy who can't sing. That's why they kicked the guy out of the band in the first place just go and look up some live footage of him on youtube. Don't get me wrong I LOVE DLR era Van Halen but it's the thicket $$ and the fact that he can't sing that will keep me from going to see them now.

I'm yet to see a decent Youtube clip from the current tour. They are all camera phone clips. The $160 buck prices were steep but it was by far the best seats I've ever had at a concert.

DLR can not hit the high notes like he used to obviously but he didn't try either. I remember the Live Aid footage and the Atlantic 40th Led Zeppelin reunion and RP couldn't hit the high notes and tried.

HAving never seen VH I'm glad I went. If you saw them back in the day or with Sammy, you might not enjoy the experience as much as I did.

I'm not THAT old!!

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time for going. I thought about going myself but decided not to mostly because of the inflated ticket prices. I won't see ANYBODY for more than 50 bucks.

that was a pretty nasty clip. It would be cool to see them but not at that price. not a chance.

Yeah I'm not that old either. I was 13 when Dave left the band and other than Sha-Na-Na at the Ohio State Fair(don't laugh mom took me and the show was popular on TV at the time!) I'd never been to a concert at that point.

I agree with the $50 comment. It will be a rule of thumb I follow unless Rage Against the Machine get's back together and tours.
