So I'm having a little adventure tube rolling my Mark V - the usual tung-sol in v1 I didn't like - the first amp I haven't liked it in.. So I have a Mullard RI in V1, the tung in v3, so is changing out v6 going to do much? Stock Mesa tube in there now.. And what would I put in it? My sole focus is channel 3, I like my amp on the brighter side, the tung was a tad harsh to my ears in the mark v, but the combo on the Mullard in v1 and tung sol in v3 seem great... So v6, going to make a big difference? Thoughts?

I have rolled through many tube combinations.
I have tried Tung Sol in all positions. EH, JJ high gain, etc...
Tung Sol in V3 may enhance the clean channel but I did not care much for the response with CH2 and CH3. All depends on what power tube you have. The TS tube has a relatively flat gain band (low , mid, high) tones are equally amplified. What I found that works for me is the EH12AX7. It is warm and bright, but not ear piercing like the JJ or Mesa Tubes.
Give the TS a try in V6. That will effect the last gain stage of CH3 and the effects return loop.
