I have two cabs I'd like to swap speakers in, my front loaded Diezel with all K100's and my Mesa recto 412 with the V30's. I know the Diezel cab will work well the the V30/K100 X but I'm not sure with the recto cab.

Anyone use K100's in a recto cab? I've got a revision F Dual recto and a Mark IVB that I use with the recto cab. Would either of these heads benefit from the smoother, tighter, darker tone of the K100's mixed with the V30's?

It could go either way.

The K100s sounded good in my old Mesa Traditional cab, but they definitely made for a bigger and more scooped response. It may not be the right direction for the oversized rectifier cab.

After some time, I ditched the K100s....unless you're playing BRUTAL modern metal, they really don't bring anything good to the mix IMO.

I use K100s with V30s. They sound ******* brutal. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but I think they sound great across the board either way. I recommend them for metal, and I think they sound great playing classic rock too (again, mixed w/ V30s).
