V-Twin gain pot is going dead, what to replace with?

Is this just a regular pot, like a 250k or 500k, or do I need to get it through Boogie? It works fine up to about 3:00, and it's dead from there up.

Is this something I could do my self, or should I take it somewhere? I'm comfortable changing pots in my guitar, if I write down what wire goes where, I generally have no problems.

It is most likely somehting failry common. I don't know what value it would be but it would probably be linear taper. If you have a shot of the insid of the pedal I could try and identify it.
