would this work:

Mark V Slave out > Mesa 2:50 input channel A > 2:50 output channel A > Mesa 412

All while still having the Mark V connected to the same speaker cab as above??

So essentially a single 4x12 would have the 2:50 connected on one jack, and the Mark V on the other jack

Im trying to increase headroom...

Anyone ever try this or foresee any faults?

The only thing to be aware of is that the cab is 4 ohms per side when running in stereo, so use the appropriate speaker outputs when doing so. Otherwise, all should be fine.

perfect thanks!

Bad ***. this excites me.

anyone know what the effect will be on the overall sound?

It will be slightly louder, but it will sound noticeably more "full". I have done something similar, only using seperate cabs and a MosValve to power the second cab.

not sure about the result... Try an MXR 10 bands EQ in the fx loop (what I do) satisfaction guaranteed with your headroom

hmmm. Curious, how (technically) would that help?? Never thought much about another EQ in the signal chain...

Putting an EQ in the loop will not increase headroom. If anything, boosting frequencies (especially bass frequencies) will eat up your headroom even more. The only way to get more headroom is more power (or turn the amp down, but we don't want to do that!)

thats what im thinking..

Im going to slave my Mark V to the effects loop IN of my JSX as a test. I will then run my JSX and Mark V speaker outs (4 ohm) into one recto 412 cab (2- 4 ohm inputs "stereo")

If that works, maybe a more space saving rack power amp will do the trick...
