using other midi cable for roadster footswitch?

can I use a generic 8 pin midi cable for my roadster footswitch, I dont see why I couldnt, but mabye not and dont want to buy one unless its possible. Somebody must have tried this . thanks

A 7-pin will work fine, pin 8 is not used with the Roadster.

are you guys sure? I thought the footswitch jack on the roadster was a 5 din not a midi jack.

The Footswitch connectors on the Roadster are standard size 8-pin DIN connectors. Pin 8 is not used so you basicly have a 7-pin MIDI connector.
