Yup. My Mesa 2:100 crapped out. The "B" channel is totally dead.
It has been slowly dying over the last couple months. It started out just a little quieter than the other "A" side, then it would take like a 15 minute warm up for it to get to that point.
Last week, I stuck the set of EL34s it came with (used) in for a test drive. That seemed to be the final straw. After about 45 minutes, it exhibited a noticable volume drop and the "B" side was toast.
It seemed like the EL34s were running too hot. But, I don't know.
Good thing I remembered, half way through practice last night, I could run it mono. Which sounded fine.
Bottom line is I will be without the amp for a month. Guess I'll be getting re-aquanted with the 5150 for a while.
Upside is I will get the (used) amp officially anointed by Mesa and, while I am there, I'll have them give my preamp the once over also. It will be a pricey piece of mind.
Pic for reference...
