Ive never liked these tubes in the past. Tried them a few times in rectos. Lately ive heard some good clips on the in various amps. So a few weeks ago I picked up a quad from ibanez4life SZ! here on the board. I stuck 2 of them in my Mark III along with a pair of JJ 6L6GC's. Wow! Really filled in that notchy midrange thingy that the Marks have. Ive tried JJ E34Ls (they were OK), Ruby BHT's (very nice), SED's (killer but too $$$) and now these Tung Sol's in my Mark III all with the JJ 6L6s. This is the fullest my Mark III has ever sounded to me. I guess they compliment the III in the right areas. I thought they made the rectos sound dull and boomy.
This tube doesnt seem to get a lotta love around here. While Ill probably stick with the BHTs in the future cause Im really cheap I think the TS is a better sounding tube even though they are very close sounding to the BHT.
