Hi! can anyone give me some insight into tubes and their gain ratings, as well as which ones you dig for their tone/response etc...
I have a mesa boogie studio .22+ and i find it breaks up very early (like at about 3-4 on master)
This has a lot to do with the low wattage as well as my EMG pickups but i want to know if there is any tubes, as opposed to my 12ax7's that have lower gain and will give me a bit more clean headroom and cleaner cleans...
I hear the 5751's and 12at7s are lower gain, will that work at all??
