hey there, i recently got my mesa 50/50 retubed with 6l6 groove tubes which was biased etc and i only use as a back up. i was wondering could i take them out and pop them into my dual rectifer and play away or would i have to get the recritfier biased with them since they are not mesa tubes?

Your 50/50 was biased for GT 6L6's?

Did you buy outside of a 4-7 hardness?

If your GT's were rated 4-7 there should be no problem using them in your DR or any other Mesa.

If your GT's are between 4-7 hardness then you got ripped off for a bias adjustment.

All Mesa amps have fixed bias . I'm surprised you've never read that in all the Mesa literature .

i have read that, to be honest i don`t know much about biasing etc, i left my 50/50 in for a retube/service and just got it all checked out

Check back with your amp tech service because most all Mesa's are fixed bias meaning you don't need to bias your power amp or head.
You may have gotten ripped off unless you don't understand what they did. If they say they biased it call ******** and get your $ back. Check your receipt or work order and see what they actually did.

To answer your question, yes you can pop those out of your 50/50 and put them in your Dual Rec with no issues whatsoever. That's the beauty of Mesa, even if you buy "HOT" rated tubes, the fixed bias runs voltage so cold, you can run any 6L6 or EL34 in it with no issues.
