I have not had any issues yet (knock on wood), but just have a few questions. I have seen a few members on here with tube issues in their Mark V's.

So my first question is, should I go ahead and order new boogie tubes and retube the whole thing to nip it in the butt before it happens (power, preamp and rectifier), or just wait and be surprised (which i hate lol)?

Second question is (its such a noobie question, sorry) my power tubes are glowing a orangish red, not bright but a subtle orangish red, is that ok?

And last question is my 6L6 farthest from the 5U4G is alot dimmer than the other 6L6's, is that an issue?

Nah you're tubes are fine...I wouldn't replace what's not broken...although it's always good to have replacements on hand. Also the rectifier is supposed to be like that.

Also if there were a problem with that 6L6...all you would need to replace is the outer two tubes...also when you replace power tubes...try to make sure that they are coded the same color...Mesa color codes there tubes...you don't have to but it makes me feel better

thanks man, its the outer 6L6 that I circled in red that is in question as to why its not as bright as the others. not the rectifier tube

Move that tube to a different socket and see if the problem follows the tube, or stays at the socket.
