Hi, I recently bought a Mesa Mark (1 or 2) and I don't know whether it is a Mark 1 or a Mark 2. The guy at Music-go-Round said (and on the receipt) it was a Mark 1. I looked up the manual and demo for the Mark 1 and the knobs and the control panel of the Mark 1 (both on the Mark 1 manual and demo) didn't match my supposed Mark 1. I then looked up a Mark 2 and the control panel fitted my "Mark 1" exactly. I still have an active 6-day guarantee on the amp. I posted a comment on the Mark 1 demo about this and i received a reply that my amp was a Mark 2 and it was possibly broken. Could somebody please help me on this one?

The Mark I has no channel-changing capability,
so it's definitely a Mark Two, not a Mark One.
I'm guessing it's an "IIB".
Here's a link to the owner's manual with set-up ideas:

Your amp looks to be in great shape. Congrats! :D

Yep, I agree I had a MKI back in 80s (Wish I never sold it) It had 2 inputs. It did not have a cooling fan. What was pretty good about that head, is I could daisy chain that head with my Marshall.

The Mark 2 series is overall superior to the MK1s.
