I know that the recto's are not great for cleans but I seem to be getting a slight distortion on the clean channel. I have 9 guitars with pick ups ranging from EMG's to D'imarzios, to Duncans to Bill Lawrence to factory junk but still seem to get a bit of distortion. My amp is all factory tubes, no mods etc. Can any of you voice any opinions?
Thanks

Forgot about those. Here are my settings. I have fiddled around with different master and gain settings, and volume settings.
Presence 10 oclock
Master 5
Gain 9
bass 2
mid 10
treb 2
out put 8

switch on EL34

Could in be a speaker issue? Maybe a tube starting to go?

I'm not using el34's, I only have the switch on el34's cuz I know that the 6l6's are biased cold and noticed a bit more overall improvement in everything.

ok found it. For those of you who are still new to Mesa Recto...myself included...Looking for an ok clean tone isn't that hard to get, as long as you get familiar with your amp and learn what button does what, knobs, switches etc. What I did was that I had forgotten to turn the loop send and return knobs back to normal position. Once I did that, I got the clean that I new the amp had before.
Guys, when you are tinkering with your amp, remember where your settings were!!! Write them down if you have too. It will save an awful lot of frustration, time and swearing.
