Just purchased a retube kit for my Triple, I'm crossing my fingers and hope its going to do what you guys have said in this forum.

Does anyone use an external EQ for their Mesa? Can you recommend it or is it a waste of money?

I use an alesis midi programable eq with my triaxis.
I can get really recto tones this way.
and it is beautiful

Ok, I think I'm going to opt not doing the EQ thing.
I do however have a Xpressions unit that I originally used through my FX loop. I wasnt completely happy with it. Sorry for all the questions but has anyone used one of them also and would it be better going through the front?

xpression out of the loop.
But if you have a head you have to use it in the loop.
I use it after my triaxis and it sounds really amazing.
I dont change it for anything.
For 290 bucks you cant buy anything better.
Gmajor suck your tone and to my ears fx sounds sterille without punch.
luck

I use a Danelectro Fish and Chips 7-band eq pedal in front of my amp. It's $29.99 from musician's friend and works pretty good. Cheaper than ohter alternatives, and to me it does the same job.

I dont think it does the same job cause my alesis is midi so I use a few diferent settings.
Pedal just one set ,or you bent down and change things.

Right, but I use it for one guitar, and the other doesn't need it. I also only use it for a flavor when i want it. I'd rather bend down and change my 30 dollar investment than be able to program a 300 dollar investment when I don't need it. I'm just saying what i have suits my needs, and does the same thing a 300 dollar unit would for me. :D

I dont think nothing about digitech
I dont waste my time

Haha me either man, i've had 2 bad experiences with Digitech. I've owned the GNX3 and the RP200. I wanted to use them basically as multi-FX units but..... Both suck tone and when you try to cancel the amp modeling(I've got a freakin Triple Recto, what the heck do i need amp modeling for??!?), it just creates an even bigger tone suck 'vacuum.' Like Sombra said, don't even waste your time.
