i directly compared my V to my friend's 101A and I like the V more.

Not surprised! Apart from being very difficult to set up the 101a / 101b, I really think the Bogner is more of an EL34 amp. I've regained quite a bit of confidence in the Bogner, though, since I last spoke of it here. It's truly an incredible amp that, when set up right, can't be touched by anything in the sounds it does well.

Lots of good ideas in here! I'll have to try some of these ideas out! The number one rule of this amp seems to be 'throw out just about everything you've learned about Mesas and use your ears instead of your eyes'.

One of the cool things I've noticed on the V is that the bass knob on ch. 3 is useable this time unlike my IV.
