Triaxis Voltage

Hi,
I am just returning from Europe with a triaxis I have been using, purchased in Europe. I am having trouble understanding whether I can simply use it without any mods on my return to Australia. It is a 220V unit and in Australia we have 240. I have read that we generally dont get 240 at the powerpoint and that it is probably fine, but I dont want to cook anything. Could someone help with some clues. Id really appreciate any help,

You'll be fine using it in Australia. It hasn't been widely promoted but Australia actually changed to 230V several years ago - partly to save on power along high voltage lines across long distances, but also to bring it closer to European voltage, which as you say, is very close but not quite close enough to 240V. Also, as you say, what appears at the powerpoint is typically 5-10V lower than specified. What this adds up to is an operating voltage in Australia of 220-225V. So you should be fine. If you are curious, stick a multi-meter in your powerpoint and see what voltage you are seeing (only if you are confident in safely doing so!)

THanks so much Ando for your advice. Electricity and me are opposite ends of the earth, so the voltmeter in the power is not something I am comfortable doing, but I understand your advice, Thanks again and have a great christmas tomorrow,
