Yeyyy, I got a 2:90 on eBay for my triaxis.

So, it just occured to me that I have no idea how to set this up. I'm also getting a G Major and a Behringer FCB1010. What additional cables will I need to purchase and what brands do you recommend?

You will need 2 midi cables (1 long for the foot controller and 1 short to go between the TA and G major). You will need high quality instrument cables to go between the audio outputs of the TA and G major to the inputs of the 290.

If you are going to run the G major out of the loop then you will need less cables (just 2 instead of 3).

Here's a list of cables you will need to run the g major out of the loop

1 instrument cable to G major Input from TA output (you can run 2 cables but since it is a mono output it would not be necessary)

2 instrument cables from G major outputs to 290 inputs

2 Speaker cables from 290 to speaker cab

3 cables (could be speaker or instrument) from modern, half drive, and deep jacks on 290 to switching jacks on TA

Recap:
3 high quality instrument cables
2 speaker cables
3 cables of any type
2 midi cables

I suggest going with a high end instrument cable and making them yourself or buying custom made to the length that you need.

Cool! I'm going to be studying in Japan during the spring semester of 2009-2010. Most likely I'm gonig to be in Kansai Gaidai University (in Osaka), but I'm trying to persuade our study abroad administration to allow me to study in Waseda University (Tokyo) instead. 8)

Anyway thanks for the cable help. Do you have a favorite brand? I was thinking Planet Waves...

If you can get to Tokyo you would probably love it. The music scene is pretty cool here but i don't know how it is in Osaka. Either Japan is a fun country I just wish I could learn the language overnight so I could enjoy it more.

I use Bill Lawrence cables which are somewhat like George L's. Any who they work great and don't require solder so it takes just about a minute or less to go from cutting the wire to having a complete cable. They are reasonably priced as well.

Greg,
If I'm running the Triaxis/Gmajor/2:90 only into one 2x12 recto cab, then I only need one cable from G Major to 2:90 and one from 2:90 to cab, right? It's a mono signal after all...

Also, what kind of MIDI cables do i need? 5 pin? 7 pin? confused...

normal midi cable is 5 pin. That you need between triaxis and effect.
7 pin from triaxis to midipedal, if midipedal has 7 pin connector.
there goes normal 5pin midi + 2 pin electricity for pedal.

you have good stuff to play with now!!!

ROCK ON!

You would want to go stereo into the 212 cab otherwise you are only using 1/2 of the amp. Since the recto 212 has 60 watt speakers you might want to pull the inner 4 tubes(this would be an equivalant to hitting the Class A switch on a Mark series amp). The speakers in the 212 should be 16 ohms a piece which means you would have a perfect match if you plug the speakers into the 8ohm outputs. (when you remove two tubes on a head you always go to the next lower impedance setting for your speakers ex. 16 ohm speakers go to the 8 ohm jack and 8 ohm speakers go to the 4 ohm jack).

So to answer your question. I think you send a single cable to the input of the G major and then send the outputs of the G major (left and right) to the inputs of the 290. Then send each output of the 290 to a single speaker in your cab( i am making the assumption that your recto 212 can operate in stereo).

For midi cables you can get just about any 5 pin to go from the TA midi-thru to the G major midi in (the shorter the better). If your midi controller has a 7 pin midi out jack then that would be a good reason to buy a 7 pin cable as long as you plan to run Phantom power to the footpedal. If your controller doesn't accept 7 pin cables then you should just stick to a 15-20' 5 pin midi cable.
