Hi, have any of you used the Triaxis' recording outputs? I'm thinking of interfacing it with a firewire unit for quick drafting and whatnot. Is the sound at least somewhat useable?

Ehhhhh. Well, I personally wouldn't use it for any major recordings (yeah right like that will ever happen) but it will work for getting ideas down and not sounding like a 1000 wasps buzzing in your speakers. The Behringer guitar DI box also has cab emulation, is cheap (30-35), and is usable as well. Again, it's not the best but definitely will get the job done for late night or quick recordings.

there's a friend of mine who mainly uses triaxis rec outs... I suppose these tracks were recorder in that way:

i think the rec out on the triaxis sound great. I use them live too, straigt to the pa along with my 2:50 to my speaker. The signal is super hot so you need to keep the gain (on the pa) very low, it does not buzz at all and is not harsh. You just need to mess with the gain on the pa or mixer.

I find the recording outs on the TriAxis WAY too hot to even be used. They literally overload anything I've plugged them into. Even my Lexicon interface. I could barely touch the line input and it was just distorting the hell out of the signal.

I have my master volume on all my atches at 3.5 -4.5 (can go higher for clean patches) i never had an issue in the any mixing console if the gain is turned down on the cosole.

I'll have to try that. But I swear I've gone very low with my master volumes only to have the signal still way too strong.
