A few years ago I bought a fairly old version 2 triaxis to use with a 20/20 amp. It was very hummy and I put it down to the fact that it was US voltage whilst the other gear in my rack was 230v. I changed over the voltage to 230 with a new toridal transformer and varister, which considerably reduced the noise. However, the split volume pot was very noisy. I didn't get round to changing it and contact cleaner only improved the situation a bit.
Last week I got it out to do some recording and found that only one of the outputs worked. Also, only one of the studio outs works. I intend to replace the volume dual pot in any case. Is there a generic pot that would do the job? If yes, what are the values? Mesa spares are extremely expensive over here in the UK. I'm hoping a new pot would solve the fault, but it shouldn't really influence the studio outputs- should it? Has anyone any ideas as to what the fault is? Whereabouts should I be looking for the fault?
ANy suggestions would be greatly valued.
Cheers
