Hi,

Today someone asked me "did you adjust your intern trimpots in your triaxis?"

I asked him what he meant and he told me there are trimpots in the triaixs wich you can use to give itmore gain...

Does anyone know more about this?

Nocki

yes nocki the trimpots are used to adjust the correct values between the internal resistance of the optos and the resistors from the analog multiplex, this calibrate must be done on factory, or by qualify people but anyway I posted the manner to do that

Wellcome to the triaxis club

The former owner wanted the "brown sound" out of it and retubed it with low gain tubes and my guess he even had it alterd to fit his taste.

I think he had these trimpots adjusted so hou would have less ain and more of his "brown sound".

I retubed the triaxis with some elektro harmonix tubes wich could get me a lot of gain but is still isnt enough. it doesnt really sound the way i like so i figured it was changed a bit.

I'll go check out your link! thank you!

EH are the best tubes for gain and low noise, then if you don´t have the enough gain I think that maybe the triaxis is not your amp.
I don´t recomend that you adjust the trimpots unless you changes the optos.
If you want more gain I could give you some programable mods to change the triaxis behavior.
This programables mods only works if you take the 10 value on the interface parameters.
Say me what channels want you modified and I will get it for you

Hi! I know for certain the triaxis is my amp.

I would like to have the lead 2 read have more gain. its not so hih gain as i wished. the lead 1 red has a great marshall sounding grainy gain wich is great but could be better if it has a bit more...

so'i'm talking ld 2 read and if possible ld 1 red.

thanks allready for your great help!!

ok I will posted you on the next hours the mods for extra gain. It will only operative when you select from 9-10 values on ld2
The mod affects to lead2 all modes.
I coudl give you another mod to increase the gain on ld1.
And I have another mod that afects only to ld1 red on triaxis with phatmod.
Then I could append you another mod to increase the general volume controlling from the master button.
So did you want all the mods??? or only for extra gain???

Hin,

thank you very much! I would like to have the mods on 1 and 2 for more gain.

volume is good enough as it is!

Nocki
ps it is a triaxis 1 i have!

Wel.. R2 should sound like a old fender tubbe amp but is doesnt even come close I guess...
That one doesnt distort even if i put gain on 10. dont know if thats right... if i can make it sound better it would be great!

 you want to mod all your triaxis
ok I will post another mod to get an overdrive for the rhtythm green
the ultimate mod I´m researching is to do the toaster triaxis, with some greats toast and butter, do you want it???
Give me a couple of minutes and I will post all the mods

ok here we go with the nocki mods:
all the mods are just access by getting into the 9-10 parameter and it really boosts. It is like having an extra pot that you can switch and it presents a more agressive behaviour just on the end of the trace.
- Lead2drive extra gain, just replace the R15D by a 1Mohm and the R16 with a 1.2 Mohm you can access to the mod just pumping the 9-10 lead2drive values. Note: The R15D and R16D must be near of the lead2drive circuit decoder, they must be just near to IC22
- Lead1drive extra gain, replace the R15D and the R16D with a 680 Kohms and a 820 Kohms. These resistors must be near the IC14 maybe on the upper board.
- To saturate the rhythm modes you must act over the general gain of the circuit, on the gain parameter. You must to replace the R14C and R15C with the next values 330 Kohms and 470 Kohms
If you think that the trimpots were adjust I recomend to you that adjust with the posted method and then proced to do the mods. Good luck

Thank you!

Ill take this to my tech and hope he'll help me with this!

it wont be tomorrow but ill let you guys know how it went!

again... Thank you!
