Hi! I finally bought my triaxis 2 weeks ago! Yesterday, I realized that without the noise gate of the G-Major, there was an hissing noise that is annoying even if the volume of my guitar is close... When the Noise Gate is activate, you could hear that only the time that the noise gate is releasing. What's the problem?

Did you ever work that out? I have a TriAxis and no Noise Gate (Rack's to Small) the hiss is killing me its so loud I can hear it when I play when I close my Vol on the guitar.... no matter what I do this thing is loud as all hell.

First off, did both of you purchase your units BRAND NEW from MESA? If not, perform a full retube with tubes from EUROTUBES.COM and then come back. Otherwise, it could be a number of things that could be wrong that may have nothing to do with your preamp, but perhaps another issue along your signal chain (poorly grounded pickups, power amp, effects, etc.).

However, if you did purchase your units brand new from MESA then only way to reduce the hiss, without a noise gate, is to purchase a power regulator, inspect your signal chain, and replace your cables with high-quality heavily shielded cables. I have a pretty elaborate set up. Everything runs through my true bypass GCX. For dirty sounds I run a NS2 in front of the preamp. The "hiss" could also be the power amp fan (assuming you're both running through a Simul-Class 2:Ninety).

Hiss is a part of the program with a rig like this. If you don't set your rig up correctly, or cut corners, then excessive hiss is what you get.

Also...proper grounding is important as well.

I'm looking at re-valving my TriAxis and I wanna get the best out of it but I have know Idea what tubes to get. I know what I want tho. I run it in LD2 and that's about it.

Softer high's
musically dynamic
clear and powerful lows
crunchy and dry
very round sound
scooped in the mids "not to much so I loos clarity"
need to drop the noise floor (This thing is loud)

I want it to sound like a tub of whipped cream with gavel in it.
