Hi every body.
I'm about the get my self a used Triaxis.
Now, I'm not familiar with all modes / versions…
I understand there are 3 versions: V1, V2 no fat mode, V2 with fat mode.

The overall sound I'm looking for is Petrucci kind of…
What suit best ?
What are the differences between all 3 versions ?
Thanks.

From my experience (having owned about 5 TA's in the past 2 years) I will say that the brand new ones have a crappy LD1 Red compared to the recto board.

I have had 2 Phat mod TA's

1 Brand new TA

and 2 non phat TA's

I currently bought a Phat mod TA and really wanted to get the same feel as my first TA (which was a non phat) so i reversed to phat mod and LD1Red sounds much better to me for it.

My recommendation is to get any TA with a Recto board installed and then have Mesa or a good tech reverse the phat mod if it has the phat mod. I would push more for a phat mod being reversed to non phat because it will be a bit newer and hopefully will have the upgraded LEDs.

I am not going to describe the tone because it is near impossible for me to do that. To me the non phat is classic mesa grind (early recto-ISH) whereas the phat mod somewhat resembles mesa grind but is way tooo loose in the bottom.

The Phat Mod just tried to tweak Lead 1 RED to bring it more in line with the actual Recto. Some people like it, some don't. If you get one with a Phat Mod and don't like it, it can be removed.
