Hi all,
I just bought a TOV-head. When I supply it with 115V AC, the transformer is making a buzzing sound, and getting luke warm after half an hour on the bold-setting. On the spongy, the buzzing disappears. This is normally a sign of the transformer not being able to handle the voltage. In the bold setting with tube rectifiers and a buzzing transformer, the 6L6's are drawing 398Volts at 28mA, so this looks pretty normal, if not a tiny bit low.
Any ideas?
Kind regards, Jake
