so i just bought a used tremoverb head and got it yesterday on ups. so far it sounds great, but the reverb doesnt seem to work. It did not come with a footswitch, so i'm wondering if it needs the footswitch plugged in to turn it on? There is no switch for it on the amp, only knobs.

I've checked the reverb tank wires, I've tried swapping preamp tubes. The springs in the tank are still connected, as I can hear them when I move it the head around. Any ideas?

I would call boogie but their hours just aren't convenient for me. :(

Not really. It seems like you covered all the obvious stuff. Tubes, tank, connections, maybe take a look at the wire to see if it has suffered any damage. Doesn't hurt to try the tube again, I've replaced a bad tube with a bad tube before.
There are alot of knowledgable people on this board, I'd let the thread ride for a couple weeks before you rush it off to the repair shop. Unless of course you need the reverb.

update...

I finally got a chance to open the reverb tank up, and absolutely nothing looks wrong. I also noticed that when I have the reverb knob up, I can tap on the tank and hear the reverb come out the speakers.

So this got me thinking, maybe I should test the signals coming in and out of the amp. I hooked a cable from an mp3 player to the input on the amp that the reverb tank goes usually into, and sure enough, I turned up the reverb knob and could hear music through the speakers.

Then I tried doing the opposite. I hooked a cable from the reverb output on the amp to my home stereo, and could not get a signal. So I'm thinking my problem is that the amp is not sending a signal to the reverb tank.

What could cause this? I checked the obvious... all wires connected to the input and output jacks look securely soldered.

Here is the output I am getting no signal from...
