Hiya folks,
I've owned my tverb since new - 1995/6. It's been fine up until a few months back when I was shredding away at home at low volume, when the volume dropped by about a 3rd. It kinda dropped, came back, dropped again - stayed dropped.
As luck would have it I have a brand new set of power tubes from my soldano slo (spares) Sovtek 5881.
So put them and initially thought I'd solved the problem because the volume came back...but with much less gain.
I lightly tapped the preamp tubes and none appear to be microphonic. I'm going to swap those out tonight just in case.
I basically think that something has "gone", and needs replacing.
I googled mesa amp repairs UK, and found Dennis Marshall miles away in Scotland - whose apparently the official mesa repair guy for the UK.
Any thoughts folks?
