Hi, I've been trying to use a Line6 M9 in the loop of a Tremoverb at our rehearsal space. I have a MkV at home and everything works fine (serial loop), but on the Tremoverb it sounds like I have that dreaded 'parallel loop/phase cancellation' issue.

I already have the mix knob full on, and tried creeping the send up and down, no help. Anything I could try short of modding the loop? I won't be able to do that since it belongs to the studio. For now I've been running it in front of the amp, which of course sounds terrible with high gain and time based effects.

See if there is a "kill dry" or "100% wet" option in the M9. Then use the FX loop as parallel.

OR, if you are just using it in the studio for recording, you can use something like a H&K red box or Radial JDX to get line level from the amp output and run that into the FX box and then straight into the console. Sounds even better than in the loop.

Hmm, I already have the mix set to 100%, but still seems to plague me. I actually need it to be 100% wet, since I'm using some pitch shifting too. Might have to relocate that to another unit in front of the amp, then I might get away with running the remaining effects (delay, voice box, etc) 100% wet with some mix (~50%) dialed in on the amp.

Even with the T-Verb loop set to max mix, it's still not going to be a pure 100% mix with the Parallel loop.... I think it's time for the Serial loop mod and that should solve your issue. If you don't have the schematic, I know it's floating around here somewhere.

I've had 3 T-verbs and used a volume pedal in the loop, but had to mod them all to serial before I could get them to sound right, otherwise they sounded just about like you described.

Very Easy to mod the TVerb loop for serial. There are 3 wires connected to the MIX pot. One connects to the FX return jack. Disconnect the wire opposite that (not the middle one). Turn the MIX knob to 100%.

There is still a bleed path in V4, as half of it is pre-loop and the other half is post-loop. You won't notice it if you are playing at decent volume, but at very low volume you'll hear some bleed.

Thanks, but I won't be able to mod the amp, it belongs to the rehearsal studio.

I think what I'll try is running the M9 at 100% wet, then backing the mix down to about 40-50%, and making due without the pitch shifter (which I'm really just using to tune down a whole step). Or I might try slaving another amp with the output of the M9, but either way I lose the pitch shifter. I suppose the slightly bigger M13 could have helped me there with 4CM and a wet dry/mix:

guitar -> M13 (pitch shifter) -> recto pre -> M13 (delay, etc) w/50% wet mix -> power section

actually that sounds like a fun science project :)
