Hate to start my first post with a question, but I recently aquired my first Mesa and it has an odd problem I haven't found described on these boards. Its a tremoverb combo, and I get nothing but a very quiet sound out of it (even after the tubes have warmed up). Weird thing is if I start playing through it, after a minute or so, I start hearing little surges of sound like its starting to wake up but not entirely. Then after a few minutes of that, it finally kicks in at full volume and starts sounding like a Mesa should. So we're talking a full 2-4 minutes of playing through the amp before it starts sounding right. If I click the amp on standby and walk away for 10 min and come back, I'm greeted by the same problem again. The warmup time is shorter, but still there.

Swapping out the 6L6 power tubes made no difference. I haven't replaced any of the smaller ones, but they all appear to be glowing the way they should.

Anyone have any ideas before I drop it off at the local repair shop?

Sounds like you should change out your preamp tubes before doing anything else.

I second this..... Thats probibly the first thing an amp tech would do anyway.....
