Why is this label on the bias setting of the tremoverb? Does silicon rectification shorten tube life or did the engineers at Mesa just think it sounded better?

New owner here :)
 
Because Mesa claims the EL34's are less reliable, it is recommended to use the lower voltage supplied by the tube rectifiers. Though, I've used Mesa's EL34's with the silicon diodes for a period of a few years without knowing, and without any problems! My '00 two channel Dual Rectifier mentions no warning of it?
 
Great to know you haven't had problems, I think I'm preferring the Si diodes for now, snappier.
 
I had a Rectoverb that only had Silicon Diodes and I used EL34's exclusively in it with no problems whatsoever.


I think that the more modern EL-34's are much more sturdy than those of the 90's.
