Went off the mesa wagon for a bit, but I'm heading back... I recently in what seemed like a crazy trade, picked up a mint 2009 Roadster for my 5150 III 50w.... I dig the Roadster, but it's a bit more than I need... I play in punk bands, think mid-90s skate punk bands... I need brighter and tighter... Got offered a really clean Rev F today.. Seems to be what I need.... But I can only go off YouTube clips and opinions since its not in the same town... It might be a little bit of a hit from my side financially, but considering what I traded for the roadster, it's still a win... My other idea was send it to trace at voodoo, and have the roadster modded and brightened up... Opinions?

I have a Rev F and a Roadster. I use the Roadster way more. It has a lot more midrange on tap, tends to cut better and will produce a usable solo tone.

The trade off is that the Rev F records better. The scooped midrange makes it sounds clearer and more articulate on tape.

I had a Revision F and sold it to get the Roadster. I really wanted 3 channels, Modern for rhythm, vintage for solos, and a decent clean channel. I couldn't have all three with the Revision F, so I got the Roadster and have a 4th channel as a bonus. They both sound great. As a side note, I had a Revision C Pre-500 at the same time I had the Revision F. I brought the Revision C to gigs only as a back-up. I preferred the F over the C.

I haven't got to really play with all too much, only cab I have at the moment is a 5150 III cab, and I don't like rectos through that at all... Going to retube it and pick up a cab this week hopefully
