Met Chris and he gave us a tour of the one and only factory in Petaluma, CA. It was awesome. Very informative and nice, and it ended with me meeting Tim Mckee. It was a great experience, tons of trans atlantics and mark v's were in the wiring stage, and carbine bass rigs were being tested in "the bubble". There were about 7 combos that had been rejected in the final stage that needed work. So...they actually do have a good sense of quality control.

that sounds like a good day. they definitely have the QC better than most the worst problem i ever had was a tub/resistor problem which was probably GC's fault anyway.

That is a cool experience isn't it. I toured the factory about 6 years ago, they show you everything and are very detailed and excited about it.

yeah, it's amazing that such a big company that works with huge stars (tim mckee said he was at the country music awards last sunday) is willing to show anyone around the factory, and give the same appreciation to them (or us) for using or being interested in their products. It's pretty awesome. It's also wild that they are in the same building that they started in, and haven't expanded. They still work Monday through Thursday, and only the cabinet builders have 2 shifts of people working on them. I like this, because even though they are one of the biggest names in the music industry for amps, they still haven't sold out to 7 day a week, all robotic production to make things faster and cheaper. Good stuff.
