I bought a Mark V a couple months ago, and the V really has been doing exactly what I need out of an amp. While I love the sound of the IV, it has kind of been sitting there since I bought the V. Maybe being used about once or twice a week. I keep thinking that it deserves to be played since it is such an awesome amp, but I'm not really giving it the love it deserves. Anyone have any opinions? And if I should sell it, any idea on how much I should ask for it (it's in excellent condition, not mint. 1 or 2 very minor scuffs in the tolex)?
Thanks,
Jeff

Personally I would keep it - where I'm living at the moment it's not practical for me to have all my gear, so I've had to leave some amps back home and I fully understand the guilt you're feeling about not playing it, but from my amp selling experience you'll always want them back the second they're gone!

It's a slightly different situation because I know the V and IV cover a lot of the same sort of ground, but I would probably still keep it. By paying for that amp you have entitled yourself to use it as little or as much as possible, and a Mark IV isn't so rare that you're taking the opportunity of ownership away from someone else - they're pretty easy to come by if you want one.

Keep it for back up. I don't need what I got and the wife keeps bugging me to get rid of an amp, but you never know where or when one might get plugged into 220V or a beer bath. I am going to set the number of amps you can reasonably own to 17, including combos.
Peace!

I've been debating on selling my IV as well for the V....but I wont do it. I figured, these amps are discontinued, and one day people will be paying out their ass for them. You already have the V, I'd say keep both.

I bought a used Mark IV combo in pretty good condition last summer and paid $1400 for it, which seemed to be about the going rate based on my research.

Decided to sell it. I just enjoy the V more. Got a guy coming tonight to pick it up. Thanks for the advice everyone. Also helps that I'll have some extra cash in pocket.
